CrossFit Teens has been going strong for just over a month now and it has been an absolute pleasure working with these young studs. In just the short amount of time we’ve had the program running the kids have already made noticeable differences with their over all fitness. Conditioning and flexibility have begun to improve and most importantly they are starting to become aware of the importance of body positioning. As adults I’m sure most of us had heard growing up “Sit up straight!” “Don’t slouch!” Those admonishing words were probably told to us more than once by our ever-loving mother’s. Most of us begrudgingly complied with her command having no concept of the anatomical rationale behind her persistent prodding. With CrossFit Teens kids are starting to understand the importance of anatomical positioning in a fun and interactive environment all while getting a great workout in as well. I keep telling them how lucky they are to be starting CrossFit at such an early age and how if they keep with it they’ll be much stronger, faster and healthier than any of their friends. It’s hard for them to appreciate the impact CrossFit is having on them at such an early age but it brings me great excitement to see their hard work transpire into their athletics, academic and overall self-esteem.
