Well, it’s official. The Open starts NOW! Tonight the first workout was released and it’s actually a repeated workout from the Open 3 years ago. That means lots of us who did the workout previously will get a chance to do it again and hopefully see improvement. That’s essentially what the Open is all about. Competing against yourself. Hoping to see improvements with your overall fitness as the days, weeks, months and years go on. If you were one of the few who was not glued to your computer screen at 5pm tonight and did not get to see the live announcement you can watch it here. Like all Open WODs, this workout is an AMRAP and will be scored based off total reps the athlete can complete. The workout starts with 30 Double Unders followed by 15 fairly light reps of snatch. Even if you are only able to get one successful Double Under you will have completed one rep which is enough to give you a score and allow you to continue in the competition. So I stress again, the Open is for everyone. You can do these workouts and if your still on the fence between signing up and not, I promise you won’t regret it.
