Rest Day and QOD
“I’ve always made a total effort, even when the odds seemed entirely against me. I never quit trying; I never felt that I didn’t have a chance to win.”
“No matter what the odds, there is always a chance that we can win. It may look bleak at times, but there is always a possibility that we can pull it out at the end. However, if we don’t make a total effort we will never know if we lost because we gave up, and basically beat ourselves, or if it was because we were beaten by the other guy.
“The odds may be stacked so heavily against us that we will be considered the underdog. While it may be disheartening to be undervalued, there actually are some advantages to not being the favorite. No one will expect us to win, so some of the pressure will be off us. Without that undue pressure we can relax and play our own game. Sometimes the underdog, through perseverance and heart can emerge victorious. The only way to know the real outcome of our game is to keep on trying to the bitter end.”
