Back To The Basics

The Endurance Wod class is looking pretty good after taking on the infamous "12 Days of Christmas" Wod.

Breaking movements down into their simplest form, taking the time to master each individual part and then putting it all together is a great way to improve your efficiency and technique. While this can seem rather tedious, it is this diligence and attention to detail that will result in a greater payoff down the road. When you start with CrossFit, you go through your Elements training and learn a whole host of movements that will potentially be worked into any workout. As you continue to come to class things begin to feel a little more comfortable and you become excited when the bar moves in a way you intended it to. Naturally, you will want to put more weight on the bar but without efficiency of movement brute strength can only get you so far. This is when you need to go back to the basics. Check your ego at the door, strip the weight off and spend time with the bar sometimes going through positioning to ad nauseam. Keep working these pieces and you will get where you intend to go.
