One of the all time greatest, Pyrros Dimas, goes airborne after another win.  He medaled in four (4!!!) Olympics, including three gold.  Talk about consistency, Dimas was one of the top in the world for a span of 16 years.

I know, we want it and we want it now.  But fitness doesn’t work that way.  It’s a step by little step process.  And you must have patience.  Consistency is the key.  If you want the gains, the performance, the six pack (abs, of course), the whatever,  you have to be in the gym, on the mat, under the bar, regularly. Day after day, week after week, month after month, and yes, year after year.  Consistency.  CrossFit level fitness doesn’t come to dilettantes and it isn’t a goal you achieve and then leave behind.  The best CrossFitters, the Amundsons and Sakamotos, worked long and hard to get to the level they are now.  And they aren’t resting (well, I hope Annie is, as number two is just about due).  There is no secret, ya gotta have discipline, patience, and consistency.  Get to the gym, no excuses.

I will talk about the working hard part tomorrow.
