Drive and Respect

Drive: 16 year old Baseball pitching prodigy, Tommy Leonardini, shows great “Drive” as he drives nearly 700 lbs on the sled for the length of the turf, ...with a little “help” from his youngest sister, Sophia, of course, just to make sure he’s getting the most out of his training. 😉

Respect:

In past posts, I’ve mentioned how amazing I think our clients are here at CrossFit West and how grateful I am to know them and have the opportunity to train them.

However, …I’ve yet to state just how I feel about those I work with.

I’ve been doing/coaching CrossFit for nearly 17 years.  Throughout that time, I’ve met and worked with a lot of coaches.  That being said, …I can’t fully express how grateful and appreciative I am of being able to work with the quality of coaches that I do now.  As a professional trainer, I couldn’t hope for a better crew to be coaching along side of.  If I could work with any coaches in the world, the absolute truth of the matter is that I wouldn’t change a thing.  …Not a damned thing.  As someone who’s been coaching for almost two decades, I can’t tell you how good it feels to have such faith and confidence in my fellow coaches.  Nor can I fully express just how much appreciation and respect I have for them.  If my sister were to come into town while I was on the east coast with clients/friends and she were to ask me who she should see while I’m not here, I’d simply tell her to just go to whichever class is most convenient for her and I don’t even need to know what class or time or who the coach is because I *know* she would be in not only good hands, but the best hands.

Overall, …I truly feel we have some of the very best coaches in all the world.

To my fellow colleagues, Sam, Cliff, Chris, David and Brooke, …I just want to say “Thank You!”  You most certainly make every day here a truly great experience for me and you are most definitely part of the reason CrossFit West Santa Cruz is such an amazing place to train.  I have the upmost respect and appreciation for each of you, not only as coaches and athletes, …but as human beings.

Sincerely Grateful,

Jason A. Highbarger
