What is your diet like? Do you indulge in chips, beer, and other starchy carbs like a cat with a bad diet? How about sugar and processed foods? Diet and exercise are like wheels on a cart–they both have to be spinning at the same speed to really move forward.
Most people, if asked, will say that they have a healthy diet. At CrossFit, we believe that eating healthy is not enough, because we aren’t eating for health. We are eating for fitness, for performance. Thus we advocate the Paleo diet in Zone proportions. Eat meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, veggies, some fruits, nuts and seeds. Stay away from starches and sugars. Try to balance your natural fat, protein, and carbohydrate intake each and every meal.
Yes, you can have a cheat meal now and again, but too many cheat meals aren’t cheat meals at all. It’s just a bad diet. Don’t be like a kitty with a bad diet.
