If you’ve been at CrossFit West for very long chances are you’ve seen Josie Felix around.  Josie is a high school senior softball pitcher who has been coming to CrossFit since June and has been working hard with me in her pitching lessons, often doubling up those days.  She’s an extremely bright hard working athlete and student with more commitment and dedication than many athletes I know.  Case in point, she commutes all the way to us regularly from Carmel and competes for an elite softball team in San Jose.

Well Josie’s hard work has just paid off.  She just accepted a Softball Scholarship to The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Please join me in congratulating Josie and wishing her luck in her college career.  There’s no doubt her hard work and dedication will continue to pave her way to success.  Not to mention, her strength and conditioning coaches will be very impressed when she gets there!

CrossFit Westers we’ve reserved the upstairs bar at Motive downtown for our 2009 Holiday Party!  ‘Tis the season and the night to come out and get your party on Holiday style.  The drink of the night is Nor Cal Margaritas (Paleo of course) and will be discounted all evening long.  Other drinks, appetizers, and food may be purchased as well.  It’s sure to be lot’s of fun, although we probably won’t be able to get away with as many stupid human tricks as usual, being that it’s outside of the box.  Attire should be slightly dressy (button ups, slacks, cocktail dresses, etc) although you can always count on Cliff to be sporting a suit.  I’m betting on a dress suit with high waters and Skins socks.  Any takers?
