CrossFit is replete with milestones. The first pullup or muscle up, first handstand pushup, first Rx’d workout, first double bodyweight lift. While it is true to say that there is always another milestone around the corner–just Rx’d Grace for the first time?, no do it sub 4 minutes or three minutes or two, individual milestones count for a lot. There are concrete markers that we are doing more, improving, progressing, better than yesterday. CrossFit does not measure health markers such as vo2 max, or cholesterol levels, or blood pressure, or bodyfat. Instead it measures milestones, and benchmarks. What’s that, you just lost 10 pounds and got your first pullup? Just did your first Rx’d workout? It is safe to say that every health marker in mentioned earlier has improved.
Collect those milestones. Improve those benchmarks. Eat clean. Be persistent. Everything else will fall in line. And quickly.
Among milestones, one’s first muscle up is huge. I can remember my first muscle up very clearly even though it was a good six years ago. Congratulations to Tony and Naomi on their first muscle ups.
