Just a brief post about the logistics of the Open workouts. Those of you who are signed up for the Open (and why in the world aren’t you???) can do the workouts during any class at West. All the coaches and assistant trainers have taken the judges course, as have many members, and we will have printouts on hand to help with the counting. Each Sunday during Open Gym, as we have every year in the past, we will hold a Community Day for anyone who wants to do the Open WOD. This is the money shot in my opinion, as dozens of people show up to hit the WOD and cheer each other on.
However, you are welcome to do the workout anytime you like. Just mention it to the coach before class, and he or she will help set it up and go over the movements and standards with you. If you think there is a possibility, even if only in your craziest dreams, that you might make it to Regionals, you need to video tape each Open workout. Arranging and setting up the videoing of your WOD is your responsibility. We will help how ever we can, but you need to bring a camera or your phone and make sure you have enough juice and storage to handle the whole WOD. Cool? Right on! The first workout is announced on Thursday and we will have it featured on the big screen TV.
