Paleo Finish Line

Paleo challenge participants! We are rapidly approaching the finish line.  The Paleo Challenge will officially come to an end on September 8th, 2009.  We at CrossFit West are so very proud of all of those who took on the challenge to make this healthy lifestyle change.  Although the official challenge will be ending soon we are confident that you all realize how beneficial it can be to fuel your body properly.  The Paleo lifestyle combined with CrossFit is the sure way to lead a fully functional, healthy life for a very long time.

So here’s the low down:  The official challenge ends on the 8th.  Starting the 8th we will begin re-testing the “Paleo WODs.”  They were Helen, Grace, Max Deadlift, and Max Pull Ups.  As for the Metcons (Helen and Grace) we will leave it fully up to you as to how you would like to complete them.  If you scaled the workout 3 months ago, perhaps you would like to tackle the bench mark as Rx’d even if it means it might be a slower or comparable time.  Completing a workout Rx’d for the first time is always a major feat in itself.  Or perhaps you want to stick with the same exact weight and simply measure the time difference.  It is completely up to you.  Remember, you guys are voting for each other in the end so it is not based on an absolute number but rather a compilation of achievements.

The same goes for the pull ups.  If you did your max pull ups with a colored band, perhaps you want to try a smaller one or go for your fist set of kipping pull ups.  You may decide how you would like to display your accomplishments however you like.

We will also need you to submit your testimonials (do your best to keep it under 1000 words) describing how CrossFit and Paleo changed how you look, feel, and perform.  These can be emailed to any and all of the CFWS coaches listed on our website.  We will also begin taking your “after photos” during the week of the 8th.  We need both the testimonials and photos no later than the 12th to qualify for the grand prize.

Great job to all of you!  Your commitment and achievements have been so fun to be a part of.  It’s amazing to see how far you all have come.  We sure hope that you feel it too, embrace it, and continue to lead a healthy life.  It’s like we always say, just be better.

End Note:  Remember, if you are ready to take it even further and would like to discuss Paleo Zone, or Athlete Paleo Zone please let Kyle or Jocelyn know and we can set up a 1 on 1.
