Regionals have come and gone – first and foremost, congratulations to all the competitors and a big thank you to all the staff and volunteers that made this event happen (and by volunteers, we mean Leah!). I think everyone that was there will admit it was one of the most impressive and well put-together events the CrossFit world has ever seen… Anyone who thinks CrossFit is not here to stay, think again. Every year it just gets bigger and better. I wonder why… hmmm… maybe because this stuff actually works?
In recap: Our team did GREAT! Big applause for Alicia, Erica, Andrea, Johnny V, Emmett, and Rich – you guys rocked! As most of you know, we did not qualify for the Games in July, but those top 3 teams that did were quite impressive and well deserving of the title (did anyone else see that 325 lb. Thruster?!?!! WHAT?!!). And also, big-ups to Annie Sakamoto from CF Santa Cruz Central – the only athlete from Santa Cruz to go on to the Games. Annie put in incredible performance and we wish her luck in July.
As for CFW, it’s back to work, doing what we do every day – get fit, get strong, get better. Whether you are 16 years old or 60, whether you’ve been CrossFitting for 3 days or 3 years, whether you are looking to compete in the 2012 CrossFit games, or just compete in those good-ole potato sack races at your next family reunion, we’re here to help. See you at the box!
