Tactical Strength Challenge

The CrossFit West gang post mud run!

This Saturday CrossFit West will be hosting the Tactical Strength Challenge.  The challenge will begin at 12pm, right after the normal Saturday classes.  The challenge consists of a max deadlift, max strict/weighted pullups, and max KB snatches in 5:00.  The winner will be determined by the highest combined score after the 3 events.  This challenge is a great opportunity to test your skills out.  I recommend all of you come out and give it a go!  There are different divisions and different weights, so all skill levels are able and encouraged to compete!  All the info can be found here.

Last Saturday, a bunch of us did the San Jose Terrain Mud Run.  The 4 mile course was pretty fun, with a bunch of cool obstacles (although there was a lot of running too!).  I definitely felt like all the CrossFit had prepared me for the obstacles (monkey bars, army crawl, etc.).  Overall, it was an awesome experience, with plenty of mud to go around!  Next up we are going to try and tackle a Tough Mudder, where the obstacles get way more extreme.  If anyone is interested, let me know.  It would be fun to get a CrossFit West team to participate!
