Front page of the Santa Cruz Sentinel today featured 4-year old Gabriella Cosner and Team G, the group of friends, family, and supporters dedicated to helping G fight rhabdomyosarcoma, the rare form of cancer she has been stricken with. Adam and Kristin Cosner, G’s parents, are members of CrossFit West Santa Cruz and active members of the Bay Area community. Adam is a longtime firefighter and Kristin a registered nurse. Adam also teaches courses in CPR, first aid, and AED. They have given much of themselves to the community and the community is responding with its support for their daughter.
CrossFit West is hosting a benefit for Gabriella on Sunday July 1st. The main benefit will be a giant obstacle course set up inside the 10,000 square foot CF West gym. There will be prizes for the fastest male and female times as well as a general raffle with lots of prizes and services. The course is open to anyone, suitable for older children, regardless of fitness level and no CrossFit or weightlifting experience is needed. Each run through the O-course is a $5 donation. Stanford’s mobile blood drive van will also be onsite for blood donations.
