Thank You, CFWSC Community!

Two month’s ago, while at Michael’s Pizza, an employee their who was interested in starting CrossFit, with tears in her eyes, told me she just had her wallet stolen out of her purse 30 minutes before I got there.  Without hesitation, I told her I would do her elements at CrossFit West at no charge.  Just because I could.  Not that it would in any way negate the shitty thing that happened to her, but more just to show that just as life can, in an instant, harshly reveal a bit of evil and misfortune, so too can life, in an instant, reveal kindness and wonder.  A bit of generosity to help offset the awful thing she was going through.

As many of you’ve heard, my car was broken into and, along with less important things like stereo and sunglasses, my entire gym bag with all my training gear and “CrossFit Swag” was stolen out of my trunk, including my new Adidas AdiPowers and, a sentimental favorite, my very first Seiko Interval Timer that I got when I was first being mentored by Greg “Coach” Glassman and had used to train amazing athletes like BJ Penn, Greg Amundson, Annie Sakamoto, Garth Taylor, Dwight Lowery and others.  …Irreplaceable.

Since then, I’ve been somewhat overwhelmed by the incredible kindness and generosity from our CrossFit West community and the place I call home.  It is truly amazing and wondrous.  I’m a little choked up by it and, like the girl at Michael’s Pizza, a lil teary eyed.  I just really want to say THANK YOU to all of you for everything!  You have no idea how truly appreciative I am.  From the Rogue collars, Reebok CrossFit duffle bag, Rogue gift certificate, packages arriving at my door, cards and more, …I just have to say thank you.  None of you had to do that, but I am most sincerely grateful.

I just feel so truly blessed and proud to be part of the CrossFit West Community and the CrossFit Community in general.
