CFWSC trainer Derek D starts another round of The Chief.

Some of us at CrossFit West Santa Cruz got together on Sunday to give the main site’s WOD “The Chief” a whirl. It’s a winner.

At CrossFit West Santa Cruz, the trainers are free to do their own programming, with both individual clients and group classes. Not only does this allow a trainer to take each session’s athletes into consideration, but also stimulates each trainer’s creativity. Good programming is an art, and, like all art, it needs nurture and experience to really bloom. Exposure to other artists’ work also plays a role. Trainers are encouraged to try other CrossFits’ WODs, and the main site often serves up a juicy WOD that is impossible to ignore.

As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) in 3 minutes

3 Power Cleans 153/85#

6 Pushups

9 Squats

Rest 1 minute between each of the five 3 minute rounds. Score is the total number of rounds completed.
