The Games Recap

No one else near him, mens champ Rich Fronning nails the last clean and jerk on the Rope Climb/C&J WOD, my favorite. He dominated.

It was a very long several days, but it was a very fun several days. I was among the crowd for the first 3 CrossFit Games, well, crowd is perhaps too generous of a word for the first couple Games, but nothing could have prepared me for this year’s Games. I was blown away. And I think just about everyone was.

The Games this year were of a completely different order of magnitude then the previous ones. The athletes, the venue, the organization, the events, the programming, the crowd, just about everything (except for the vendors running out of food about 11am on the first day), was jaw-dropping.

It was just great. So much fun.

Whatever you need to do to attend the Games next year, 2012, get on it now.

A huge congratulations to CF Los Gatos athlete Chris Kulp, the Professor, on his 2nd place finish in the Masters 60+ division. Chris had become a regular fixture around CF West when he bumped up his training schedule in preparation for the Games. It all paid off. Great work Professor!

And thanks to Rogue, we scored a bunch of new equipment. Enjoy your gym’s new look and toys.
