UCSC Volleyball

The UCSC women’s volleyball team, coached by CrossFit West Santa Cruz trainer Selene Teitelbaum, is in the midst of one of their best seasons ever.  A little less than half way through the season, their record stands at 14 wins and only 5 losses, all to nationally ranked teams.

Being coached by Selene, it should come as no surprise that these athletes are fit, CrossFit fit.  Their off season training consisted almost entirely of CrossFit, and their on season conditioning is mainly bodyweight CrossFit.  Selene found that the interval and round aspects of CrossFit meshed perfectly with the explosive short-duration play of volleyball.

Congratulations to the UCSC women’s volleyball team.  All of us at CFWSC wish them luck with the rest of their season.
